Abstract
The present programme of work was instigated to determine the effect of iron dilution on the resulting properties of single layer clad deposits of IN625 on steel. By varying the welding procedure, the level of iron dilution was controlled and the effect on subsequent coating performance determined. Particular note was to be made of the corrosion behaviour of the various claddings in comparison to wrought IN 625 and to other materials currently being specified for their resistance to seawater corrosion attack.
