Guide to documents in https://doi.org/10.17862/cranfield.rd.25827832 Context: The replacement of single use plastic packaging with reusable containers is increasingly regarded as a potentially viable sustainable business model if brought to scale. We aimed to study barriers to ‘on the go’ refilling, as an alternative reuse business model aligned to circular economy objectives in Vietnam and the UK. The empirical data for the study available under this DOI consists of eleven key informant interviews capturing sector stakeholder views and an online survey (n=326). Analysis facilitated by Nvivo (interviews) and SPSS (survey data) led to the identification of eight structural and commercial barriers hindering widespread adoption of this circular business model. Uncoded and coded interview transcripts (Interviewees 1-11) are available under this DOI alongside a codebook describing the codes identified. A further 6 documents contain comments from the transcripts grouped into primary, or first order codes (themes): convenience, hygiene, knowledge, price, structural and choice. Survey data arising from UK (n=330) and Vietnamese (n=96) online participants is also available under this DOI. The documents described are listed below.
